Add-ons

Why the Inspire model works...

Take a moment to reflect on the past hobbies/new skills you've tried to take on. Which ones you did you go far in, and which ones did you only ever poke with a stick? Now ask yourself, "which ones of those did I have friends I was doing it with, and which ones did I keep to myself?" and I bet you will see some correlation.

Whether it's running a marathon, learning to paint, studying a new language, or anything that requires effort and consistency, learning becomes so much more exciting whenever we have friends learning along with us! These are the people who will encourage you - and you can encourage - towards a deeper commitment towards your shared goals and interests, celebrate and be inspired by each other's growth, and feel safe to talk about your blunders and obstacles among people who have been there and get it!

Of course, I as your teacher will be here to guide you, but I'll never have to be your only inspiration. That's the principle this studio is founded on.

About me

William Baker has been playing piano since he was eight years old. Before entering college, William auditioned and was selected as the Arkansas Symphony Youth Orchestra’s pianist. His solo repertoire during that year also won him best in class for the Searcy Community School of Music’s solo festival, a seat in the Music Teacher’s Association of Central Arkansas’ Honor’s recital, and a scholarship to attend Harding University.

William performed memorized solo recitals of 25 minutes his junior year and 50 minutes his senior year during college. He is a two-time winner of the Queen Piano Award, a scholarship for college piano majors in the Central Arkansas area. He was also hired to play piano parts for the Searcy High School string orchestra, CrossPointe Preparatory School's choirs, and accompanied other teacher's students. He has been the pianist for First Baptist Church in Cabot since July 2025 and ran choir at HOPE Co-op during the 2025-2026 school year.

William began teaching independently in 2019 and taught under Searcy Community School of Music from Fall 2021-Summer 2026. During his time at Harding, he took classes in Independent Studio Teaching, Piano Pedagogy, Studio Internship, and Music Literacy.

William holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Harding University. He was a student of Dr. Scott Carrell from February 2018 until May 2025.
